Status Quo: Digitalisierung braucht Glasfaser<\/h2>\n

Der Markt f\u00fcr Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) in Deutschland, \u00d6sterreich und der Schweiz befindet sich weiterhin in einer dynamischen Wachstumsphase. Ende Juni 2025 lag die Glasfaserausbauquote (Homes Passed) in Deutschland bei 52,8 Prozent \u2013 ein Zuwachs von fast 10 Prozentpunkten innerhalb eines Jahres. Dennoch nutzen aktuell nur rund 27 Prozent der Haushalte einen aktiven Glasfaseranschluss, die Nachfrage steigt aber weiter deutlich an. Die Wettbewerber der gro\u00dfen Netzbetreiber tragen dabei den Gro\u00dfteil des Ausbaus, was den Wettbewerb und Innovation vorantreibt.<\/p>\n

In \u00d6sterreich und der Schweiz ist die Entwicklung \u00e4hnlich, wenn auch unterschiedlich ausgepr\u00e4gt: W\u00e4hrend die Schweiz mit einer Abdeckung von \u00fcber 70 Prozent im FTTH-Segment europaweit f\u00fchrend ist, bleibt \u00d6sterreich aktuell hinter dem EU-Mittel zur\u00fcck und erreicht um die 50-Prozent-Marke bei der Versorgung.<\/p>\n

Ausbaupotential: Viel Luft nach oben<\/h2>\n

Obwohl der Ausbau in den vergangenen Jahren z\u00fcgig voranschritt, ist das Potential im DACH-Raum enorm: Besonders in Mehrfamilienh\u00e4usern, l\u00e4ndlichen Regionen und industriellen Gebieten wartet noch ein erheblicher Teil an Haushalten und Unternehmen auf den Anschluss. Die ambitionierten Ziele der nationalen Gigabit-Strategien \u2013 eine fl\u00e4chendeckende Versorgung bis 2030 \u2013 setzen den Sektor weiter unter Druck, denn das Ausbauziel droht ohne verst\u00e4rkte Investitionsanreize und technische Innovation zu scheitern.<\/p>\n

Herausforderungen bleiben dabei der Mangel an Fachkr\u00e4ften, langwierige Genehmigungsprozesse und hohe Ausbaukosten.
